I believe that I had this exact rack for 45 records, so it was my immediate thought as well. I like lindac's idea for a letter organizer as a current use, but I can see that there are more than 31 slots.

I agree it could be for file or mail sorting, or as suggested above, for records.

Happy to see that I am not the only one who recognized this as a rack for 45 speed records! Makes me think of some of the old things posted here that NO one has any idea what they were used for....someday, maybe the fate of the 45 rack.

problem i have with record rack is style and possibly material? i had one like above, they were reasonable price and metal. you were supposed to leave records in covers.

Nope...it's a rack for 45's

45s often had paper sleeves which would fit fine in the rack. Rack-O only needs ten slots so that many would be gross overkill.
