What about the chemical sprays, will they affect the flowering buds?

Hi Alma spider mites will only get worse if you don't do anything spray them get rid of the mites then worry about buds

They can devastate your plants and you will more than likely ruin the buds/flowers, but as Roger states. They will get worse before better if not gotten rid of. Atleast now it is still early in the summer, you could still get more flushes of blooms.

Most sprays, unless systemic will have to be sprayed more than once. Most are contact sprays and will not kill eggs.

Hi i have stumbled upon something that has worked for me lime sulfur I'm not sure how it would go on the buds I have had a good result with this product. I cannot use predatory bugs all my plants are outside and I have to many. If I could I would give them a go first. When I cull my plants down in will give them ago. it stinks, lime may assist with root rot.

Okay. Thanks Roger, Rick, going to get what you suggested (bayer, Roger) but yes, worried about loosing those flower buds. Haven't really had the pleasure of them and here I finally have so many that can possibly bloom.

Liquid 10MLS per 500 MLS of water in went of the rose guide. I have even up rooted my plants that are about 30mm high dipped them and repotted them in the middle of winter that's how desperate I got didn't loose a plant, i kept them out of direct sunlight for a couple of days .

Hi don't know what happened I as going to say I have sprayed and not knocked off the blooms but it probably will but if you don't spray the mites will knock them off

Anyways, thsee are the ones that have mites

Maybe before you go and buy a chemical pesticide you could try a quick home made spray of water cooking oil and dish washing soap. Works well for small scale infestation, just be sure to get under the leaves and all other hiding spots. See if that works. Don't give your money to BAYER if you dont have to! Lol

Just remember if you use oil watch out for a chemical reaction if you use lime products it will potentially harm your plant i think its about 6wks between the use of both I'm not sure but I think Rick is right onto the mixing of products.

I will give the soap and water a shot, if not going to try the harsher stuff.

Good move have a look on the interweb the soap to use is Dr ? Natural soap I was reading about it it is made in USA at least then if it fails go to chemical, just watch if you use any thing oil based when mixing pest killers there is a thread I think it's one of my threads someone has expand what happens with oil and other chemicals in will look for it
