What do I do? Compact front full sun bed in suburbs

Trying to make a striking landscape in a small space utilizing what I already have. I'd like to keep the barberry bushes, but any of the perennials can be moved or added to. The space gets full sun.

Please help me out!

I would move the large shrub in front to the far left side so there is more balance. The shrubs near foundation would work better pulled out from foundation more. Add some variegated lower plants between background plants and annuals. Trim up where needed after things get re-established.

Does lantana do well in your zone? There are two kinds, trailing and more upright, and colors such as yellow, white, oranges, pinks, and purple in the trailing species. I find it very easy and pretty.

Nice job with the edging and mulch color…do not like that red stuff.

The hydrangea is going to get a lot bigger; not loving the trimmed boxwood by the front step…either plant another hydrangea or roses to mimic those on the other side.

Grasses look great!

The little plants lined up in a row…what are those? if just annuals, next year plant Cranesbill…which will spread along the edge.

I would move the sage and add more…I love those plants all in a row.

Can’t see under the corner tree…is that hosta? You could add more there… with ferns and astilbe. Looks like there would be enough shade.

Some of the shrubs seem rather severely shaped...flat tops and sides look artificial. Try letting them grow out a bit for a softer look. You can trim them lightly to keep them in bounds. All in all, I think you have done a good job.
