Finished, Unusually Colored Top

Hi Folks,

This top is made from donated Liberty of London prints. Interesting to work w/, but one of the strangest color combinations I've ever seen. The challenge to myself was work w/ what you've been given & make the best of it.

Brighter light in the hallway, but less true color.

The background is brown w/ a tiny polka dot; that's for the reverse.

So along w/ the orange & red roses, there's 2-3 shades of khaki, pewter & the craziest spot of dark blue, bit lighter than navy. On studying this color palette, I wondered what WERE they thinking?

After the first couple of pix I realized: Oh, I know what it looks like, a slice w/ Peperoni!

Karen, what a hoot! A slice of pepperoni! It looks like they might have been trying to work with the colors of the print. You did the best with what you were given. Good job.

I have to agree with Lois....a slice of pepperoni indeed. I'm not sure I'd know what to do with it either.... well done!

Update: am about to turn in this pieced top to my Guild to be longarm quilted.

I wanted to capture this complex yet bizarre coloration to show what I was working with. Strangely fascinating.

I enjoyed studying this fabric & how it was colored. Though from afar, it is still Pepperoni to me ;>)

I've also seen the colorway of green & blue roses of this print, also made into a quilt for charity,
