Someone moved and there was a mountain of clutter near the street this morning on the way to work. One red speck caught my eye and I made the block to see what it was. It is a bit unloved, needs a new pot, and perhaps a nice trim but I love it anyway! The caudex looks sort of small but the leaves are huge. I've never seen ones this big. And they are a bit glossy. No soft spots or pests that I could see. It only had the one flower I accidentally knocked off. Is it just different or is this a different variety that I know nothing about!?

Either way, I'm feeling really lucky!
