Gold Hahnii is a very fussy plant. If this is your first year growing it, then I would leave well enough alone. It will grow fine next to each other and then maybe next year if you what, divide it up. Seems most have losses during winter months when light is low and temps are cool.

It is a lovely plant and when the pup is about 1/2 the size of the mother plant, most could cut away with a section of root rhizome and roots. Leave the rhizome dry out for a few days then pot up. Water a few days later with just a little bit. Do it when it is still warm out but not before winter time starts. Keep from direct sun for a while until it gets used to it's new pot.
