That species ('Krimson Queen') is known for doing that. Some people cut them off as they drain the plant of energy. I usually leave them on unless I notice the plant stops growing.

Like Denise said :D Mine started only putting out white leaves then stopped growing. I cut of most of them (I left some because they are pretty ) and it has started growing like crazy again.

mine did it as well but they said its a tricolor not sure if tricolor is the same as KQ but the forum said that its perfectly fine cause tricolor produces all white stems with all white leaves but if it stops growing then I would rather remove the stems .... going to google more about it ill post a photo of my hoya below

I've found that as long as you keep a good ratio of white vs green leaves, this plant does fine having solid whites. Here's a few pics of mine, she's an old girl but as long as I keep 50% green leaves and 50% white she's does really well. Though I would love a solid white plant, it just wouldn't survive :(

I LOVE the white, and didn't realize you can have a plant survive that is half white and half green. I learned something today. My Krimson Princess put out a few leaves that are almost all very pale green with just a thin border of green that I think is attractive, but that pure white is just stunning!
