Midsummer Cannas in my garden
I took a few photos this morning on my routine mad dash to the car to drop off my daughter and head to work. I have a canna quarantine patch (its pretty weedy and needs some maintenance) that has jumped from the June rains. The hummingbirds are such a delight to see each morning as they visit the taller bloom spikes from the cannas. Also, my container garden is really looking lush and I am eagerly anticipating the blooms from Eric Neubert canna that has a bloom spike that shot up this week. Take a look:

Erebus was one of the first cannas I purchased thinking I only wanted a bluish green leaf canna with pink blooms. Then I fell in love with a lot more. So, like most plants I love, I started a collection.
Here is Australia (gifted to me by a most impressive plantsman) with Bird of Paradise behind it.
Tropicanna and Pretoria growing with more reserve but looking great nonetheless (also gifts from the same plantsman). Pretoria is spreading nicely.
Cannova Rose (also gifted) just glows and I look forward to having a big clump one day like the one at the UGA Trial Gardens. Please forgive the disparity in mulch/compost that I recently used to tidy these rows. I used up everything I had since its just for growing/trialing my collection.
Finally, some Orange and Lemon Punch cannas that work perfectly in containers.
