Just do what i do....

Equal parts perlite, bark, and clay that are all small size. Stick the cutting in the mix and water it in. Then put in a closed clear container. And you can go on your vacation with no worry! lol

No i do not, but it that is probably a good ideal......

Even without pre-soaking it, the mix stays moist for quite a while if you keep the cuttings in a sealed container.

I do the same thing, orchiata and leca pellets, technically semihydro, in a clear plastic cup with holes like an inch up the side. I can neglect them for nearly 2 weeks if I overfill the main catch tray.

I've had luck with semi-hydro before with propagating Hoyas. They were mostly Carnosa and Pubicalyx types. Those varieties are easy and will root in basically anything.

I think Globulosa is more sensitive. I did try semi-hydro with it and in 2 days I lost 5 leaves. Globulosa is such an expensive Hoya I'd hate to come back from vacation and find all the cuttings dead :-(

I don't dome it. It grows fine without bolstered humidity.
