It's Raining! Sunday, 7/23/2017

It is raining at our house, but that is not the most important thing.

The most important thing is that our temperature was 101 when the skies started clouding up. The current temperature, with light rain falling is 78 degrees. Of course, we are happy to have raindrops falling from the sky, but we are happier that it no longer is 1,000,000 degrees out there.

Guess how we made it rain? We fired up the grill so we could cook outdoors to avoid heating up the kitchen and, consequently, the rest of the house. It worked today. Maybe I should start planning on grilling tomorrow so we can make it rain again.

I hope all of y'all are getting rain too, or will at least get some this evening, overnight, tomorrow or whenever.

I don't think we are in danger of flash flooding or anything but maybe we'll at least have a puddle or two for the birds to splash around in.

We got just a bit of rain. I think people around us got more. There's still thunder and lightning off in the distance. Walmart in east Norman was shut down. I suppose do to a power outage. I couldn't look for the squash bug killer there because of it. We went to Crest instead. Needed a few groceries that I didn't find at NG. ANYWAY, the cool down was so welcome. I love little treats like this that we get in these horribly hot days.

We got maybe a quarter inch of rain, but the cooled temperature was sweet!

It tried to rain again overnight but the storms were passing to our east. We got the thunder and the lightning, but the rain stayed east of us except for just a minute. I heard rain start hitting the roof and couldn't believe it because I had just looked at the radar and it showed nothing. Well, it was nothing. After about 30 seconds the raindrops hitting the roof stopped. We've been cooler today, and I'm sure it is from the rain-cooled air from last night's rain. We currently are at 91 degrees, which is a huge improvement over last week's 101. It won't last, but we'll enjoy this one good day.

Yippee for all those that had a break in the high temps. It's really cool here, and my ride today was in misting to light rain conditions, I am near Lake Huron.

Yes, it was this gloomy!

It's raining here in Claremore this morning. Well, it's more of a drizzle, but it is water. It's very warm outside for 7:30, though, so it feels like a steam shower.

Moni, It might look gloomy, but to me it looks mild and pleasant. I hope you're enjoying your biking tour this summer.

Mary, I am so jealous that I am just green with envy! Rain is always good, even if it falls more like steam.

We're slightly cooler here than earlier this week, or maybe I should say it is heating up more slowly. Not much rain is expected in my neck of the woods and I've about quit watering. It's just that hot and dry time of the year here and wishing for rain to fall here generally is a waste of wishes.
