Cymbidium?

A lady gave me this very mushy very gross pot of bulbs today . 90% of the roots were rotten and about 6 of the bulbs were smush. They were also planted in straight garden soil . So I cleaned them off the best I could and planted them in bark, coir and perlite . Is there any hope for them? And are they intact cymbidium? She didn't know and I'm just guessing

You have Cymbidium Back-bulbs. If they have Live growth eyes at the base of the Pseudo-Bulbs you might get new growths, but it will be many years before you see blooms.

How long would you say before I will see new growth just so I have a little time line before I give up on them

If they are soft and funky at the base they may be dead.

I pulled all the smushy ones off . These ones are all hard
