Please, HELP ME choose finish for cabinet pulls and knobs...

I was set on getting brass finish pulls and knobs - these ones:

Now that the cabinets are here, the appliances have been re-installed and the faucet plus sink pendant, I don't think the handles above will pair well with the rest of the kitchen.

The appliances are all stainless steel (hood is not in yet, but is stainless too).

The pendant above the sink is this one (it is brass, but a dark one):

And the faucets/detergent dispenser are nickel.

Here is the kitchen as it is right now:

Lights are not in yet, but they will be recessed lighting.

Thanks for any input.

This kitchen has a similar vibe to yours with the shaker cabinets, traditional chrome faucets, and pendant light, but their hardware is more traditional than the one that you have picked. This kitchen is in the Spring Summer 2017 edition of Dream Kitchens and Baths, which indicates that their hardware is from House of Antique Hardware. This designer also has several other projects on houzz in which she has successfully mixed different metals. Perhaps the linearity of the hardware that you have chosen is throwing you off.

I love mixed metals. I think you can use the polished brass you like. Can you order a sample or two and stick them on with poster putty?

Wilson shows a very pretty example of mixed metals, and I'm generally all for that, but the image is of a colorful eclectic space where brass is used in several places. Your perfect mix of metals might just include nickel, orb, and stainless steel pulls. If you go with the brass, definitely use it elsewhere too.

I agree with eam44, I think the brass is nice, but the color and style seem a bit incongruous with the rest of the kitchen. My first choice would be ORB. I think if you want the brass, need to find somewhere to repeat it, like the kitchen Wilson posted, so it doesn't look out of place.

What style is the rest of your house? Love your lights with the dark finish.

If it were my house and I would probably choose dark hardware since everything else is light. Very nice kitchen.

Hi everyone- thanks for the advices. I'm sorry I didn't call me back earlier to this thread but we had a very busy weekend with my 7y old breaking her leg! She is fine now, but is proving to be a little tyrant:)

I don't have brass anywhere else in the house, although I'm considering getting a brass/blow glass pendant for my dining room, which opens into the kitchen.

I read some material online about how to mix hardware finishes successfully and the designer said something along the lines of keeping the mixture restricted to different eye levels.

I think If I had bought a faucet in stainless steel finish AND if the brass in my pendant were more golden, I could have the hardware I like best.

However, at the lower eye level I have already mixed two different finishes: stainless for the appliances and polished nickel for the faucets.

i definitely do NOT want stainless for the cabinets hardware. I'm considering polished nickel (or brushed) for it. What do you think?

do you think it would be too clinical and cold? The backsplash is a warm white as is the paint (feather dove by BM). The floor is wood which also brings some warmth...

And finally, I will add two open wood shelves either in walnut stain or the same stain of the floor (provincial). The hardware for the shelves will be dark, similar to the pendant's.

do you think nickel hardware would work in this context?

@CALIgirl5: what is ORB? Is it a style ? Or finish?

    Oil rubbed bronze. Dark brown.
