Have to admit adentifying plants from leaves can be a problem for most of us though many are very distinctive to that plant species and if we are familiar with that plant , even if a uncommon one ,, we may accurately do so . Just guessing it is Asclepias tuberosa though it's been years since the seeds of a hybrid color mix self seeded in my flower garden and mine came in pink, white , orange etc. and though quite different from our more common species , did have a lovely alluring vanilla scent to me and the butterflies did indeed love it.

To docmom , a fellow Michigan gardener , I wonder if yours didn't self seed like mine or you found the hybrid tiones tend to lose their bright colors over successive generations as is true for many of the self seeding hybrids over several generations, so growing new ones from packaged F1 seeds does ensure the brightest colored flowers. I note a very tall variety of biennial foxglove hybrid did in following generations tend to lose all the brightness of the original hybrid , though being somewhat lazy or cheap lol I didn't buy some brand new packaged F1 seed to yield the best colors like the originals.

A tuberosa. "Orange Glory" and 'Hello Yello, are the most popular. The pic on the package looks like it might be a little of both.

I have only ever grown A. tuberosa from seeds purchased from native plant sites, so I don't have any experience with hybrids. I have never been disappointed in the rich color of my blooms.
