There is some confusion around vanity construction so I'll try to clarify it. James Martin uses North American hardwoods in "ply". Sheets are bonded together to form the plys and they are used to build the vanity. I believe they describe it this way because they don't want customers to associate their material with the typical plywood you buy at your local hardware store.

They, and other manufacturers, like to use hardwood "plys" because it resists warping better than single pieces of wood. That's especially important in high humidity and just about every bathroom experiences high humidity from time to time. We've sold thousands of vanities and I don't recall ever getting a complaint about warping - but I probably just jinxed us!

The veneers they use are also solid wood, not "paper" veneers.

I realize seeing the "plywood" in the description is concerning but I can tell you that some of our highest quality manufacturers use it.
