That's one of the ones I got from Thailand early September of last year. It never leafed out until just last month.

That is beautiful Alma. Nice group of flowers on your new plant and the leaves will become more variegated in subsequent years.

Not surprising that it did not leaf out until now with getting it in Sept. Mine did not leaf out until this summer as well.

So today I saw a smaller leaf on this one and it's 3/4 white. I've been too focused on the flower buds that I didn't see this leaf.

My Start of Top has been extremely stubborn about producing leaves and I keep having problems with the leaves turning brown or black. The roots are great and I have depotted it a few times to give it systematic anti-fungal and anti-bacterial treatments and also given it regular feedings, calcium, boron, and copper drenches but it's still being a pain. So we'll see if it will make it through to next spring.

It's a beautiful classic red. Very nice! I haven't given up on mine yet but I do want to kick it in the ass. Such pretty leaves too when it bothers to make any.

I totally understand! Lol! I have one that has budded out but has dropped them for the past 2 years(I've had it for 4 years). Still no buds forming. They will probably form at the end of the month when our temps start dropping to the low 50's

I find all of my Variegated Adeniums are slow to produce leaves and I like to have them started early with a bit of help in the spring. Always slower than plain green forms.

I keep mine with 40-60 % Shade cloth over them during the hottest times.

Thank you, yes definitely one of my favs. All of my flowering ones get only morning sun. And I remember reading what you've said Rick, about less full sun for the variegated ones. Maybe I read it off your thread.

Elena, as far as sz it's actually pretty small, but flowers are a good sz.
