Pods on Pandora's Box green sport:

does remember me.. have a white scapes?? ... if so.. i wouldnt be surprised if there is little or no viable seed in those pods ... just an observation for conversation purposes ...

Ken, no, 'Remember Me' has green scapes, the pods are light coloured, roughly the colour of freshly mixed guacamole, and I don't remember from last year whether or not I even had pods. I'll check the pods later in the fall, based on the colour of the pods I would expect to find viable seed.

Now, the white pods I found on 'Fantasy Island' I would expect to yield no viable seed, but time will tell.....

pretty sure i remember GE having white stalks and pods .. and rarely seed ... did i damage that brain cell???

I have a GE with pods. Just quickly went out and took a photo while waiting for my guests to arrive.

G.E. may not have a lot of viable seeds in those white pods but makes up for it with sheer volume of pods!

Some of the darkest pods I have: 'Sea Octopus' and it sets tons of seeds.

I have a sizable 'Risky Business' that has started to sport -I call the sport 'Finished Business'- and the interesting thing is the sport has pods -green and green scapes- but I have yet to see any pods on the main plant.

That's the green pods on 'Finished Business' and here's the flowering 'Risky Business' with white scapes and thus far no pods.

And finally some 'Revolution' pods....

Fair question, Ken. Based on my limited experience I'd say it's not necessarily so, With 'Revolution' you do get white scapes and mostly white pods -some will have a green line- and while the seeds themselves are viable the seedlings are mostly fatal whites. 'Fantasy Island' has reddish scapes and white pods and it's the first year for this cv in my garden so I don't know whether or not the seeds are viable.

Rascal looks good to me today...although something about the pods reminds me of the slugs I picked off of some of the plants tonight.
