First one should definitely be replanted. I transplant every 3 or 4 years. I am going for big plants also though.

Thank you everyone for your very helpful comments. I have repotted the first one in a gritty mix.

Although I've grown and wintered succulents, the beautiful adenium is new to me. From reading this forum I know cooler weather has its challenges. I will be very careful of any watering but am not sure if all adenium loose their leaves and go dormant in winter. Any winter advice is appreciated.

May depend where you live and what conditions year round they will receive? Not all Adeniums go dormant. Even when they have leaves, they can be in a dormant state. If actively growing there they will be pushing out new growth.

Cooler days and nights, lower light levels and temperatures will help initiate dormancy. Also, stress can.

Thanks Rick, I'm in Fla. Zone 10a, so pretty warm year round with the very occasional overnight frost. Plumeria are out year round with no problem. I'll pay attention to when growth stops.

Maria, thanks. I was going to pick up another dark double ( the flower is much darker than in the photo) but couldn't resist the cheerful face of the single which is named "Pink lemonade".

Now if I can just keep them healthy :)
