I like the trestle table, but it appears that there is not room at the head for ones feet?

Also, wondering on the trestle how close the chairs get to the center piece running down the mid section under the table? Have you seen it in person?

The other table looks a bit, "blocky" IMO. If there is such a word :)

The Soho table does not go with the rest of your furniture. I like the other table.

We have seen trestle table in person. It is a little over three feet wide. Both my husband and I sat at it and had room for our feet/legs. He is 6'1.

Vivien, we are not planning to use current chairs in the dining room with new table. Our main goal is a larger table to seat 8-10 and fill room/rug. I will not try to squeeze four chairs per side but like the option to add chairs to ends when we have larger crowd.
Also, that isn't our furniture in living room photo and I need to add one. We are not home currently but will add soon.

I like this with in your scheme and on your rug…a lot. Just a bit more formal and leans toward an Asian style.

I do like the first chair posted. Loving the trestle and mixing with the area rug. I'd go with chairs with no nail heads.

Head of table

I just love the look of a neutral tone linen slip covered chair at that head of the table! Any chair goes well.... dresses up the space a little IMO...
