First few fruit on pepper plant can be miniature. There's no problem!

I think it happens if the plant somehow still manages to set fruits despite environmental stress. My Habanero had a first flush of 25 or so pods that got no bigger than pea to dime size, whereas they normally vary from 1" to 1.5". I think that somewhat cool nights caused it for me. It has now put out normal pods after a few weeks of warmer weather.
