Design Dilemma Kitchens

Backsplash behind a range...

We have cabinets coming in soon-white shaker style and they don't come to the ceiling. We're installing one of those stainless steel hoods that looks like an upside down Y and the cabinets flank the stove and hood. Where should the grey marble backsplash end:

A) Where the hood begins

B) Where the cabinets end

C) They shouldn't end-should be on the entire wall above where the cabinets end

Hi Na Na, The first picture is fantastic if you're up for that much tile work. The usual scenario is your picture B. I would recommend stopping at the underside of the hood or as you stated "where the hood begins". The third picture could use a panel or finishing point for the hood and tile to meet up to as they look a bit like they floating.

To clarify, I like the first picture and the last picture. I think the middle one looks bad especially with dark tile like that.
