This cute papa Cardinal has found a cozy place to sleep on my Lychee tree. I found him last week and this week, he's still here. He'll come back home at dusk and chill out for a bit before culling himself up into a ball of feathers and doze off. I've been observing him every night and each night, he does the same thing over again.

I haven't found any nest in the tree and he's all alone ... no partner. However, in the day time, I've seen many of them flying around and foraging. Sometimes they're a pair. There's even a couple that tried building a nest under a picnic table umbrella.

Anyway, this guy here is such a sweetie and I just wanted to share the pictures. I'm not familiar with all of their habits, but I'm thinking they must be solitary birds that like privacy? When I turn on the light which is by my lychee tree, it doesn't seem to startle him. He just remains quiet and stationary and most of the time just sleeps right through, but I try not to make too much noise when around him.
