Wilsonart Quartz experience?

last modified: 9 years ago

Hi all, I'm deciding on my master bath countertops and wanted to know your experience with Wilsonart Quartz...how it's holding up, any issues with staining or scratching. I love the color Arlington (in the picture on the LEFT, the darker gray), and I can't find the exact tone in any other brand (the sparkle doesn't show in the pic). My bathroom tile is in the center. Any help with the brand and/or color would be much appreciated.

Our fabricator carries many brands of quartz but said he sells very little Wilsonart quartz. He said it is a quality product. He cited two main reasons it doesn't sell as much. (1) It is positioned between the high end brands and builder grade brands; and (2) there are serious distribution problems, at least in our area.

For example, shipping from Dallas to Shreveport adds about $300 a slab, putting it in the same ballpark (for us) as say Cambria.

Personally, I'm not overly concerned about subtle quality differences among brands. We looked at Cambria, Caesarstone, Wilsonart and other brands before picking the design we liked best, Gravel, from Zodiaq.

I would avoid edge profiles that are thin or sharp, regardless of brand, out of concerns about chipping.

Thank you, I agree, I think most brands are probably similar quality, although warranty and customer service seem to vary greatly among brands. I need the right color, that's the biggest concern I have. I am using Silestone Kensho for the kids' bathrooms (their accent tiles are above, the circle marble and the marble piece -- left most tile -- are in their bathrooms), and have heard great things about Silestone customer service. Ideally, I would like to use an even lighter shade of gray for my master bathroom than Kensho, but can't find one that has the right tone. The one pictured called Haze which looks like a match to my tile is Caesarstone, and it reads too brown an undertone/beige in certain lights, which I don't love. Ideally, I want a pale gray that pulls the gray out of my tile, but it's proving very hard to find so I am thinking I may have to go for the darker shade.

This is Gravel, which will replace our Wilsonart Luna Shadow laminate. There are price differences among and sometimes within brands, but at the end of the day at the general price point of quartz it's more about the look you want, the skill of the fabricator and the warranty. We will need about 55 SF. Another $5 SF doesn't break the bank if we wanted Cambria but this was the look we wanted regardless of cost or brand, and this pattern will make for an unobtrusive seam.

Very pretty pattern!!! And I agree, it's about finding the right color, the difference won't break the bank in most cases. Especially with a large remodel. This is the tile with Silestone Kensho, just wish it was a paler shade.
