We are not going to iron them on low heat. Do not cut. Those leaves still work and produce food for the tree. The next leaves should come in normally.

It almost looks like the tree was over fertilized. I'm with Steve on this one, the leaves look a little malformed but I wouldn't cut them off.

Perfect--'do nothing' is my all-time favorite course of action. (And I have no idea where my iron is.) I'll be sparing with the fertilizer this season, just in case the curled leaves were actually my fault and not my husband's. Thanks very much for weighing in!

The damage to Joallyn's leaves are not from the lack of water, the damage is from insects ( from aphids, or thrips etc.) which feed on the leaves by sucking the juices out of the tender new growth. . Thrips are so small they are very difficult to see without a lens. At this time of year, spraying the new leaf flushes every 3rd days with horticultural oil in the evening kills all the insects causing the damage until the new leaves firm up.. Doing so stops the new leaves from any insect damage. It works 100 percent of the time. Once the damage is done it will remain for the life of the leaf.

Agreed w/Silica, above - when new growth is coming out bumpy and misshapen, it's more likely a pest issue than a fertiliser one.
