So I think my description didn't work at all for some reason haha, but comments seems to be working... Can anyone offer some suggestions on exterior paint scheme for my sort of odd house (those windows!). I think landscaping will help :). I like the current color well enough, but I'm wondering if something different would look better or more appealing. I'm just worried that because it is already kind of an odd house, choosing the wrong color could be really bad! What do you all think? Thanks !!

Paint the bottom half white -- all of it, not just what I show here.

Yes, and as ppf shows, remove the too small shutters.

Interesting...yea the shutters are a bit small, but not sure I'm loving the half white idea.. I certainly appreciate the new idea all the same! Keep em coming! :)

I like the current green. Given the odd spacing of the windows, I agree about removing the shutters and color blocking the first floor. The presented white on the lower floor may cause a "white" overload. What a about a brownish taupe for the first floor?

Maybe I could do two nicely complimenting colors for the two halves, and separate them with some sort of trim/band?

The white was suggested to take the focus off the lower floor windows. Any other color and the windows will stand out as they do now.

I completely agree with PPF. above. Remove all shutters and paint lower half white

congrats, you have my 'head scratcher house of the day' award. what you need is some tall trees/landscaping to have something to look at besides the 100% non alignment of windows. someone can photoshop some in.

    distract and conquer.

Haha awesome.. I totally agree on the landscaping and a good tall tree on the far left. Luckily the inside of the house is quite beautiful.. it's what helped me overlook the outside :)

The shutters are too small to be functional, and you will be told that several times, I am sure. The exterior color is blotchy as if it has faded over time or two colors were used and/or foundation shrubs may have been removed. You should use an exterior-grade paint which is high-rated for color retention.
The window placement is definitely strange on the outside. I hope it makes more sense on the inside. I have no solution except to grow a few big trees to block a few of them.

The color is blotchy, definitely overdue for a paint job with a good quality paint. It looks like previous owners went over some areas with a darker color or something, it's weird. The windows are crazy but everything makes sense inside and is nice. I can add a couple past photos for anyone interested... I think it helps to see the inside since outside just doesn't make sense!
