More Encyclia Drama Part 1

Regarding my previous post, I've given this encyclia many doses of a molasses and eggshell mix and the pseudo bulbs are still somewhat shriveled but the good thing is it has produced another stalk(?). Any ideas to plump up the shrivel? Hopefully the new one will not shrivel up. See next post...

That's really probably as good as it's gonna get. It may, over time, plump up more, but right now it looks pretty darn healthy.

On a mature plant, with good care, that new shoot will will grow, yield flowers, start to shrivel, and offer new shoots. In the shriveled time, it exists to provide nutrition for the shoots and flowers. Then finally all the color goes out and dies off. The cycle of the encyclia bulb...Somewhere in there it loses it leaves before it dies too.
