All right. I didn't hear back from anyone about combining an order for Indigo Glaze from Rinoa so ... *cough* *cough* I put in an order for a TWO of them. And a Bertha, and a yellow Joyful. So now I wait and hope that she sends good plants without obvious damage or rot. I was pleased with others I got from her before. So much for waiting until spring. ;)

If you haven't seen Indigo Glaze before, it looks like this. Variable, as it can have a dash of hot pink, or the flowers can be very dark and nearly black.

Indigo Glaze is a Superb bloom, Hyn. Wish that I could have gone in with you to get one of these beauties.

Maybe next year I'll have seeds. Now I'll have multiple purples I can try crossing with one another and see if I can work on getting some more patterns.

Just saw this. Indigo Glaze was one I wanted too. I wish I would have seen this earlier.

She still has some left if you want one. The shipping is $35 whether you order one plant or up to four so it becomes a better buy if you find up to four plants that you like. At five plants it bumps up to higher shipping of $50 but that is still only ten per plant and isn't bad. So if you don't want four plants you could easily go in with a friend to share an order. Especially considering it's Global Express and usually delivered within a week! My last shipment from her took only four days once inspected on her end.

Not sure if they used photo shop, the bloom I got nothing like that. I will wait for second bloom before filling a complaint with our beloved Riona.

Shang, It looks like yours has the markings of the Indigo Glaze similar to photo's. May need more time/age or different site with filtered sunlight or a shade cloth over head.

Many of the photo's have enhanced colors and is apparent to many, not all.

I ordered "Phantom" from Rinoa, it looks like Indigo Glaze but in red/black... My plant bloomed kind of like Shang's. I was disappointed but will wait for second bloom. Two of Rinoa's plants did not look like expected, she told me it's because my growing condition, most likely heat. My previous orders were exactly like in her catalog but plants were white/red, and my last order with black/reds turned out to be kind of dull red. I'm waiting for weather to cool off and plants to be more mature. Will see! :)

Rick, that what I am hoping for. With the Florida summer heat I will be turning pale myself. Crossing my finger for a darker shade next bloom.

Wonderful illustration, Hyn. Very informative and explains much of what we experience with our Adeniums.

I find when I am looking at blooms (Grafted plants) to purchase. I am always looking at the surrounding items in the photo, whether it be a pot, leaf or something else which will give me a good idea as to the true color of the bloom. Many times, Oranges will look very orange so will objects close by have too much of a hue or cast of color.

Not a expert by any means and purchasing Dark Colors and Yellows can be tuff for both purchaser and seller. The other aspect is at which time the photo was taken, partially open bloom, etc.

Exactly, Rick. Photos of yellow adeniums are especially bad - often the leaves and everything else in the background are a bit too yellow as well, and that's a tip off that the flowers are probably more pale and creamy in person. Good thing to watch for. Fresh brand new blooms also tending to have better color when they first open than they will later in the day, or the following days.

I just received my Indigo Glaze (didn't see this thread until after I ordered it) along with a Orange Lover. I ordered the 3" pot/$20 size, but the caudex is a bit over 3" in diameter. Both plants look good. Needless to say, I'm really happy :-)

Thank you for sharing this with us, Stupidlazydog! It looks like my order is due to be delivered tomorrow to the PO Box. As usual, Rinoa is very quick with the shipping so while it's not cheap shipping, it is great that the delivery is so fast. I'll post photos and an update once I have them in hand myself.

I hope you will like them, Jeannie. Those of mine that were from Orient Adenium that have bloomed so far have been pretty nice.

They arrived and they look fantastic! Nice and big with LOTS of branches on them. I'll try to get a photo tomorrow.

The first and third plants with lots of branches are the Indigo Glaze, the really large second plant is Bertha, and the last one is Joyful. They all look great to me, no damaged branches, all roots perfect. The grafts are extremely neat and smooth so I couldn't be happier with them on arrival. With others having had some trouble getting poor plants from Rinoa, I'm glad to see these arrive in great shape. ;)

They all look very nice and healthy. Nice w the multi branch on the Indigo Glaze plants. The first on almost looks as though it was cut at one time and multiple roots formed. Not a bad thing, just an observation.

Might have been! I will look more closely to see out of curiousity but I think it's a thin root laying horizontally. I will thin some of the fine hairy roots off to clean up Bertha when I pot them up.
