New sans on ebay

Raresans or Juan Chahinian put some plants on ebay. I already bought the first of two Pfisteri's.

Ill have to check it out. I hadn't seen him there this year and was wondering how he was doing. Glad to see he is still in the game! Note some folks who here on this forum who bought plants from him last year had trouble with mealybugs. Just check your plants closely when they arrive.

You can see them on completed listings. I got the silver blue kirkii from him last year with no bugs.

More plants added including a large boncel (which is similar to my mother plant with offsets).

I've been waiting for him post some Sans again; the Gray Lady Áurea I got from him last year didn't make it past a month and I would love another one...

I just looked at his auction. The pfisteri looks like it has mealies. I lost my main plant of the gray lady Aurea because of the mealies it had when I received it. My silver blue also had them

Nancy, I hate to say it, but my Gray Lady Áurea that I got from them was sick since the day I received it. I just didn't have enough experience back then to know what to look for, so it died... I was devastated because I knew I had a rare Sans in my hands... I'll probably never be able to replace it.

One year later my gray lady area, despite numerous treatments with systemics and other things, still had the same darn mealies, I finally had to get rid of it. So many of my prize plants got infected with his noxious variety of mealy it was heartbreaking.

That's terrible vitorama... at least I only spent a month on mine, you dedicated a whole year to yours, wow! He put a Masoniana up for sale today... wish I had the money, but even if I did, I'd be worried about sick plants...

    i was wrong, not Masoniana...

A regular masoniana, Mary? Or a variagated? Must have sold already.

Nope, it's still there... but I was wrong, not Masoniana. He described it as belonging with the spoon shaped ones...

I did see that. Looks a bit like the one you bought earlier this year, no?

Yes a little bit, but the leaves on mine are very tall and wide... 4" wide and about 15" tall.

This one tapers towards the bottom. I really like it, but it's too expensive for me...

Juan just posted another sans on ebay. I noticed it had mealy bugs. I sent him an email telling him. He wrote back that his eyesight is really poor, but he sprayed them twice with Merit, which should have killed them already. One hour later- Okay, he just got back to me. He saw the pictures, wiped the dead mealies off and will post new photos. Merit is systemic so it should stop them.

Stuart, did your pfisteris have mealies? If you didn't see any right away you should keep an eye on them. I didn't know my plants had mealies until Katrina posted that her silver blue had them. When I checked mine they were in the creavices at the base of the plants and weren't noticeable until you pulled the leaves back.

Nancy, I did see some mealies on the pfisteri when it arrived. I believe they were already dead. But I will keep checking. Someone bought some of Juan's plants friday.
