Nope. What you see is what you get (Or maybe not get if you're smart. I was in my collecting mode when I got this one.) Besides, they already have a hosta by that name.

Collecting mode... And that is exactly why I got Stitch in Time and Mango Tango, both of which lasted only a few years for me. But at least those were good looking. Perhaps someday yours will become the most sought after hosta (mostly because there are none left, as everyone else dumped them!!!!!)

I have had a GGM for a few years now. it grows very well but it does resemble a virus plant at many stages, sane cab be said for my lakeside dark shadows.

Im always in collecting mode..planted a newly acquired stitch in time 2 days ago

so nondescript.. i apparently never took a pic of it ... lol ... probably because i never walked by it in a transitional stage ...

geo schmid is in GA ... and all his plants with the gosan name ... were .. i think... supposed to push the limit on zone ...

mmm, newer hosta Funky Monkey has some green striking to it that looks positively ugly for me even that I know it is not HVX.

Don Rawson needs to add a new title in his hosta lists: "Really Ugly Hostas That Only a Collector Could Love". ;-)

No hosta is ugly; some just have less redeeming value in a garden.

I just divided Neat & Tidy: love the name but in no way descriptive of the plant's growth! Just an aggressive dark green that takes some sun without too much burn.

Gosan Gold MIst under the right growing conditions holds that mottling/misting; I saw it in George's garden years ago in its prime. So many new hosta introductions, once removed from the originator's garden don't show well!

Have you seen Cynthia? I looked it up in the Library because I saw it offered for sale and wondered (and because that's my actual name).... Yikes!

Oh Dear! I just looked her up. The only thing going for it (IMHO) is that it is viridescent and turns green later in summer. The data base also says it is a good breeder.... ;-)
