My grandfather has been raising plumerias since before I was born and I'm 38. We suffered two losses in our family within 3 months of each other, my grandfathers first born and only son and my grandfathers wife. He took a break from gardening for awhile mainly because of aging but now he is going at it full force again, I think it's a distraction and a way to cope. Anyways I'm very happy to see this and my mom, my brother and myself have immersed ourselves in helping papa and we have a great time. My papa has soooo many variations of plumerias and many of them are like huge trees now. Well we recently noticed this huge plumeria that hadn't bloomed in who knows how long but if you look at the pictures this one seems super unique. As you can see on the underside of the petal there is a pretty strand of pink along the edge. Once the flower is completely open the pink is still visible on the back of the petal but not visible on the front of the petal. The front of the petals are white with yellow near the center and it has a very light and soft wonderful smell. It's not super strong but man it does smell amazing. So does anyone know the name of this type of plumeria or any reason why it has the pink on the back but not on the front? Thanks in advance!!
