I've had this phalaenopsis for just over two years. I got it from a garden centre when it was in flower, and I cut the stem at the base after the flowers dropped off. It has never been repotted and it grows in sphagnum moss. New leaves and roots grow slowly but steadily. It also suffered some kind of condition a year ago where the edges of the leaves browned. I never diagnosed it but I ceased watering and moved it away from the window for a while and now all new leaf growth is healthy.

I live in Victoria, Australia. The winters hang around 5-13 degrees and there is frost, and the summers are mild between 15-25 degrees. It is regularly overcast. The climate zone is temperate.

I keep my orchid indoors, on my windowsill which doesn't get any direct sunlight and is probably too shady. I moved it to the sunnier kitchen for about a month and saw no progress. I feed it with orchid fertilizer every 3 weeks by saturating the moss with the water-soluble solution. I water it only when the moss dries out and saturate it. I do not water the leaves.
I noticed the beginnings of a stem a few weeks after I cut down the first one. It has not made progress since and it's quite saddening because I'd love to see it bloom again. Any suggestions?
