One seedling

last modified: 9 years ago

This is my own cross of acuta pink, EPC 617 (pod parent) and sp. 33 AP1054 (pollina parent).

It is the only seedling that has survived. A few died due to dampening off, a few to aphids, many to some very BAD chickens, and some, I selected to destroy.

This seedling is now two years old. It would have been much larger, had I not had to restart it multiple times (it's not picky about needs, but cramming it between pentaphlebia and cominsii made it very unhappy, lol...light starved...I also almost drowned it...twice!), and had I not broken off many of it's growth tips just by rushing during waterings and moves!

Momma's leaves:

Poppa's leaves:

And, the baby (finally growing some new leaves):

As soon as one of the parent plants blooms again, I'll take photos! I lost my flash card with all of my older bloom pics on it...ugh!

I can only hope the blooms look unique, as the leaves on the seedling resemble momma too much, right now!
