My Banana plants: Beginning to now

Here you will notice I have two different varietys of banana plant.... I also have taken out around 10 pups or suckers. Here it is. Here is my Musa Basjoo on Day 1: (February 25, 2017) North Georgia USA

Here it is about a month later:

Here it is in the ground about two weeks after that last photo: (Late April 2017)

Here it is about a month after that: (Mid May 2017)

Here it is Early July 2017:

Here it is on July 20, 2017:

And now Here it is (August 19, 2017):

I used well drianed soil and fertilizer and lots of water for these plants. I will put up another post for the Dwarf Cavendish banana plants.

Matt K, I take out the suckers, it seems to grow better like that. But, I plan on planting some down by the pond where it floods a lot.... any advice on how long to fruit?

That'll be a good idea. As far as fruiting basjoo are not edible but the flower is still nice (seen from pictures). The cavendish is edible, even in zone 7-9 might take 2-3 years.

Hello new to banana question what soil do use or recommend and what fertilizer do you use and how often you add thanks and congrats on your they look great keep doing a great job
