Fukien tea problem
Hey!
I got a fukien tea bonsai last year as a gift.. during christmas holidays it apparently got too dry and all the roots died. After a long long fight to save it I only managed to root a small branch from it.
Now the rooted branch has a big root system, new leaves (on same spots where old leaves were) and it's flowering.. But there's been no new stem growth at all.. and its been rooted for half an year by now! There are no leaf buds or any signs of life at branch tips. Is it normal behaviour for fukien tea to not have stems grow for a long time?
I fear that the growth points (meristems) at the tips have somehow died during its long suffering while I was trying to save it.. in which case there's nothing to save it I guess but I've never heard of such thing happening.
Any thoughts? :) Since it was a gift I'd really like to save this plant. (Hope you manage to understand my english!)
Best regards,
Juho from Finland
