Was wondering if its possible to use a utility/laundry sink in a kitchen? Has anyone done this?

Can I ask why you would want to do that? It would be very unusual and to deep?

Could you use a laundry sink in the kitchen? Sure.

Should you use one? Absolutely not.

No. It will look like a utility sink. Perhaps you can tell us why you want to do this. The only reason I can think is that you have massive cookware that you need to wash daily. Are you using KD? He or she should be able to help you understand why this would be a terrible decision.

Not in my opinion as laundry sinkls very often look like that exactly. I guess I am another one who wants to know. why??

Maybe you can look at commercial kitchen sinks.

If cost is a factor, look on your local Craigslist or try Habitat for Humanity.

Also online I find to be a lot less (as long as you know exactly what you want) due to free shipping and no tax, sometimes.

Do you have a Habitat 'Re-Store' or similar nearby? You may find something very inexpensive.

I think that having a utility sink on your kitchen will have a negative impact whenever you go to sell your house. I agree that a used sink might be a good solution.

Can you post a picture of what you have found? Maybe it's not as bad as most of us are thinking.

You'd likely be better served by choosing the deepest stainless steel double sink you can find.

Ditto idea to check Habitat for Humanity Restore Stores -- you can often find great bargains there. Check more than once -- inventory changes daily (even hourly) as donations arrive and items are sold.

How do you use it for food preparation and dishwashing? I use the counter next to my sink every day. In the end, of course, you should use whatever YOU like!

Not all kitchen sinks have built-in draining boards. There are plenty of sinks that are single undermount sinks with no bells and whistles. I've got a single sink in the laundry, a slightly smaller single sink in the kitchen, and they're not very different, actually. Laundry sink is a bit wider. Have a look at what's actually available, and what would work for you. It's easy enough to buy a plastic drainboard, after all.
