Hello citrus growers ;). Ironically I'm in Florida and struggling to grow citrus lol. I have several citrus in pots...(I know what your thinking! I live in an HOA and they're not allowed in the ground). I live within walking distance to the ocean so the air is very salty and windy. That's why they're very close to the house. Yet on the downside it radiates the heat. I'm also in the process of growing some wind breaks. So I've got several adversities I have to battle even before mentioning the soil mix lol. For the most part they're doing pretty good. I killed many in Ohio so I educated myself as much as possible. Ive had the trees about 2 years now and I'm not impressed especially when I see everyone else's beautiful trees.

Okay so here's my issue. As my original miracle grow for citrus / added perlite breaks down I've been making the gritty mix. Always loved it just not a fan of how long it takes! I planted my lemon and orange in the gritty mix for 6 months now and there's been NO growth whatsoever and the lemon looks a little rough. Granted it was a bit rough when I put it in the mix I thought I'd see some progress now. I was actually suprused with the water rention considering the heat in Florida. Right now it's watered every 2 days and fertilized once a week with foliage pro. I fly for a living so I have the watering automated so that's why I'm stuck with the weekly dosage not daily...

If anyone can give me some tips or say be patient I'd greatly appreciate it.

The top pic is my lemon in the gritty mix and the bottom pic is my orange in the "not to be named soil with a ton of perlite " lol which is decent looking with 5 large oranges growing.
