I used it to wipe out a heavy infestation of Colorado Potato Beetles last year, and I haven't seen a single one this year. The only thing is DE will also kill beneficials.

I hate ants, I sprayed the bottom of my containerized basil plants, which had ants this season, with cayenne pepper in water and the ants disappeared.

Thanks Dan. I have had success with the bait you reference... as well as my custom mixes sugar, Borax and water. I use an inverted "AntPro" bait as pictured.... i have 8 of them on ~ 1/2 acre in Danville and am quite pleased. The Ant population never gets to zero, but when I need a quick hit and supplement, I do add / use those small Terro baits - they work!

Mole, about your custom mix. Would you mind sharing the ratio of the sugar, borax and water mix? We have a lot of ant Farms on our property and we just noticed a farm of yellow ants around a fallen woodpile. This is the first time I have seen the small yellow ants. I need to look them up and see what they are.. Thank you! :)

Yes, sure! To clarify, I am strictly battling the invasive Argentine ants.

I fill a 1 gallon container with warm to hot water. I add 2 cups of sugar and 2 Tablespoons of Borax. Mix/shake and fill the traps. - George

George, thank you for the recipe..I looked up the Argentine Ant to see what you are dealing with. Sounds like a hard group to battle..My sympathies go out to you..

Thanks Jinny, the Argentine Ants are relentless. I'd love to have GM lizards that will eat them. the local lizards are not fond of eating these ants.
