Prairie Moon, second year in my garden, middle sized hosta that grows up to 40cm...

I second Prairie Moon, lovely colour for the whole season although not sure if the leaves will reach the size of Gold Standard. Prairie Sky is a lovely blue and a good companion imho. Another thought would be Dancing Queen, although she is considered a large.

Even though some people diss the Proven Winners, I have to admit that Coast to Coast has wowed me with how golden it becomes, even in fairly deep shade. It also has a puckering that makes it look like hammered copper. I think that it may become larger than you want, however. Mine is a healthy 2nd year plant and is certainly not 'giant' like my Sum and Substance was in year two.

Sea Gulf Stream is always nice.

Out of hosta I am looking at are oldies Golden Sculpture, Golden waffles, Aspen Gold, Midas Touch. Then Centerfold, Celebration of angels, Kruggerand. New one I am getting is Rebel

Rouser.

I second Aspen Gold, it's not often seen but is a very nice hosta, slightly larger than medium if given good growing conditions. Golden Sculpture and Kruggerrand are large, with GS being very large.

You might also look at Fort Knox, an older variety but very nice in the garden, and a true medium. King Tut and Flemish Gold would also work, with KT being very upright and FG being more mound shaped. Golden Fountain is a very nice variety, striking in the spring and early summer, but it does change to a soft, pale green.

English Sunrise or May would also work, but it's difficult to find a true plant of either, these seem to have gotten caught up in the 'if it's a solid gold June found in tissue culture, it can be labeled English Sunrise or May, no problem' issue. I am of the school of thought that not all solid offspring of a variegated hosta found in tissue culture are either a known sport of the variety being tced, or the original solid parent of the variegated plant plant being tced. Most are reasonably close, but not identical, some are very noticeably different.

Wow! There's even more than I'd thought! Thanks. I'll look these up and see who has what, to shop soon. A new friend turned me on to a nursery with a good selection, that is not nearly as far away as the one I usually shop at.

Oh, which one is that? I got some online, Northern Grown Perennials and Green mountain hosta have few I mentioned.

Oh, great nursery and conifers there are joy and beauty...another hosta to consider Harriet Ward, love it, it is current color
