Healthy & prolific own-root roses

Does anyone have one or two own root roses they can name that have done really well? I live in zone 8.

It is fragrant when you walk by because of all the blooms! I would say 3 out if 5 stars for fragrance! It smells great , but not powerful like a hybrid tea . You won't be sorry on this one! :)

Hi Manasi! You'll get better responses for this sort of question in the main Roses forum. I'm new to roses and too far north (zone 6-5) to be much help to you. What are you looking for in a rose - size, place (arbor? near house? against a fence? specimen planting? etc), color, fragrance, and more.

Whatever you want, especially in your zone, I'm sure our more experienced gardeners will be able to suggest several great roses for you.

My best healthy and prolific rose is hands down "flamenco Rosita ". Mine came from chamblees last spring as a little one gallon plant . It is now at least 8 ft wide and 5/6 ft tall and absolutely gorgeous and unstoppable! And fragrant!

It's the hot pink rose. This angle isn't the best but it's amazing

I agree you should post this on the regular rose forum ! You will get many excellent responses

Lilyfinch knows her stuff! I am in hot, humid S. Ga and have several that do great for me. Pearl d'or, Belinda's Dream, Louis Phillipe (cracker rose) Souvenir de la Malmaison, Carefree Beauty, Nahema...new last year Dark Desire and Summer Romance...Sharifa Asma was a tiny thing when I got it...has been a very slow grower, but I moved her a few weeks ago, one foot from where she was, and now she is covered with buds...go figure? Most of my roses get a good amount of shade, some more than others and do great! Bloom profusely. I am fairly new to roses, but found this forum to be the best way to learn about them! I just search a rose I am interested in and then look for responses from people with my climate. The members here don't know how grateful i am!!! Saved me from buying some that would have failed in our humidity! (which is wonderful because I am on a budget!) You may want to add your zone to your screen name. Your zone 8 may be different than mine!

Lilyfinch that Flamenco Rosita is something else!!!! Stop showing it off or I may sneak up your way with my digging tools!! lol Is the scent strong...you know how I love fragrance.....

For me it would have to be Dick Clark. I received this tiny plant from Roses Unlimited about 5 years ago and now it regularly grows over 7 feet tall.

Everyday that passes, I love Perle'dor more..ALWAYS blooming, fragrant, and the blooms are to die for..
