its not really a shrub.. for long term life in a pot ... if i read correctly ...

if it wont be going in the ground soon.. you will most likely.. start having some pot issues .. like root bound.. lack of fert ... etc ...

fall might be a great time to plant it in mother earth.. unless you know how to store it for winter ...

it is not all that uncommon ... for plants.. to throw a random flower or two.. out of the usual season ... rare.. but not impossible.. if this were way out in the yard.. you probably wouldent have noticed ....

I stand corrected...its not in a pot, but in a half sized whiskey barrel. I do not have a yard or a garden where i can replant it. I only cut it once a year and on old growth.

I get a bloom here and there later in the season on my Wine and Roses Weigelas. I cut it back about a foot or so after it blooms in Spring just to neaten it up.
