weigla reblooms?

My plant bloomed profusely this past Spring as it is suppose too. Then
according to cultures i have read, i should prune them after they
finished blooming, which I did. Now as we are approaching the end of
Summer ( late August ), I noticed one new bloom. I guess this is a
rarity...so I will see if it is just one or more coming. I did nothing
to this container as far as fertilizing, but being outside it does get 6
hours or more sun and watered only when it rains. I rarely ever water
it myself. One thing that confuses me is that the cultures says it
blooms on new wood, so is it possible that when i did prune it back in
late May, the new growth is going to give me more bloom? if this is
true, than one has to prune it at least twice a year, if they want it to
bloom again the same year.
