I know this is an old question, but for anyone new, I also had a 30 year old log cabin with very dull dusty logs. They were so hard to clean. I had a contractor come in and clean and add a clear gloss stain to the living room/kitchen . It was a log cabin stain, Lifeline. It cost a fortune and we had to leave the house. Several years later, I saw the infomercial for ProShot floor restorer. I bought a bottle and tried it in a closet....and waited two or three weeks. It worked great! I couldn't believe it. For the upstairs bedrooms, I washed the logs with a wet rag and mild soap, then rinsed with a wet rag. I waited a week or twoo to make sure they were dry, then applied the ProShot (rubber gloves and rags) , it looks exactly the same as the professional job. It has been over two years and it looks the same! It is easier to clean, just a damp clothe, no cleaner. I mean it is still a pain to dust the "walls", but much easier than before!
