Due to the 9 step process of treating the sequoia pavers and tightly installing them in gravel with 12 inches of drainage, this is a long term landscape. We experimented with pressure treatment and did not find the discoloration of pressure treatment suitable to Pendleton Design aesthetic sensibilities. The treatment has no ill effect on interior flooring or furnishings. Continued treatment is required every 3-5 years for the longest durability. Edges are not splitting away. Some of these are 8' in diameter and sequoia is a very hard, durable wood suitable for our outdoor installations. It is easier to walk on than natural stone, even in heels. (A lot of experience since project completion.)

I love this idea! I am trying to design a walkway from my hot tub to the bedroom door. We live in the Tahoe National Forest so I would like to incorporate the natural landscape in my design. Can you please send me directions? How thick do you cut your wood? How do you treat the wood? Do you lay them in sand/gravel?

While beautiful, I hate to think of these magnificent trees being cut down for ornamental purposes. Please tell me this was not the case.
