I'd probably paint it nickel. Usually, I'm all for mixed metals, but as the fixture is a bit of a throwback piece, I feel the gold would kick it across the "dated" line.

Out of curiosity, do you intend to keep the couch?

You know, now that you mention it, perhaps it would be better to get a different fixture. It seems your entry has standard 8ft ceilings, so you really wouldn't be able to hang the light more than 6" down before risking someone hitting it. But at 6" down, you can't really appreciate the metal part of the light. I feel like a flushmount or semi-flushmount might be a better fit for your entry and this orb light would fit better in a room with taller ceilings (I'm assuming other areas of the house have taller ceilings since your living room seems like it has a taller ceiling). Thoughts?

Great job on exterior . I agree would follow through with brush nickel. chain lights bring your Ceiling Height down . I would work around pushing ceilings higher

and room wider. Might consider pin lights In ceiling . Painted/wall paper accent wall ? .brushed nickel tall floor lamp would pull ceiling height up . Minimal is better

for small space. Nickel with yellow look rich. I agree with others Gold finish chain dates you room. my best to you!
