Even during a heatwave, John? I could spray Bonide oil with spinosad in the late evening, but with temps going up this week, wouldn't that burn the leaves tomorrow?

I don't think it will hurt the leaves, if you spray in the evening. It is why we prefer to use systemics.

Earlier this month I switched to a low N combination fast/slow release fertilizer and along with that added a hefty dose of Imidacloprid systemic. No evidence of CLM in my yards - yet. I haven't had the chance to spray anything in over a month and with the 100F+ days forecast, ...won't dare to. - George

Mike, everyone around me says they have been hearing about an early Fall this year! Usually we get an Indian summer in October that's hotter than our real summer, so who knows. I'll try and send some heat your way, buddy. ;)

One thing they did discover is that an unusually wet year is most likely followed by another wet year; and the same is true for unusually dry.

Last year was unusually wet for us...
