My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
Iris Marie Liddle (IML) Catalogue listed it as IML 1886 (sp. Bicolor). As do many other vendors.
The flowers resemble that of incrassata, but they are less muted in color (bright orange corolla tips versus muted orange in incrassata, darker yellow corollas than incrassata, same light yellow corona).
The leaves can be VERY thick and stiff, and although they are rounder (some look like hoya australis ssp. tenuipes leaves, in shape) than those of incrassata, they DO resemble incrassata's leaves, including the subtle venation.
I do think it is either a subspecies of incrassata, a different clone of incrassata, or a wild cross of incrassata. Without DNA tests, we may never know.
Thank you aurorawa. Your plethora of knowledge on Hoyas is invaluable! Your assistance has helped educate me on growing my Hoyas bigger and better:-)
Im thrilled to learn more about IML 1886. I believe I purchased it as an Incrassata but the lighter colored leaves always had me perplexed a bit and the ID tag only stated '1886'. I'm so happy to have this variety.
