Limequats are yellow, not surprising since kumquats are orange and limes are green.

Limes are yellow when ripe. They are sold green because the loose appearance quality as they yellow.

I have a tree, no fruit yet though, but from everything I have read you can harvest the fruit at various stages of ripeness. You can pick the fruit while green and it will have the flavor of a lime, or let stay on the tree until it starts turning yellow and it will be a bit sweeter like a Kumquat. If the fruit is already turning soft, I would go ahead and pick it to use before it gets over-ripe..

I have several limequat trees. They are great and very productive. I pick them when light green and they taste exactly like a key lime. I make awesome key lime pie with them.

Thanks for the information. I had no clue they even existed lol. Laura I see what you mean when you say very productive. There are about 3 stages of fruit on it right now. I'll harvest a few next week and let y'all know how they are.
