The hips are seed pods. You cannot grow them as per normal plants, because the seeds are tiny and have no starch reserves.

They are a selfing of your Dendrobium so you will just get plants that have similar blooms, so it is not worth putting in the time, effort and money to raise them.

She's using the term from the name of fruits on roses, ie rose hips, but certainly not a term used for orchid seed pods. Although, the term Vanilla "bean" is a bit weird but has been accepted.
