Those are Armadillidium vulgare, often called a roly-poly or a pillbug. Please use that name to do a bit of research. I'll be happy to tell you that in most instances, these tiny crustaceans are harmless, feeding on organic debris in moist, protected locations.

However, they are well known to be a real problem in some locations, where their populations begin to feed on the tender foliage of young garden plants, causing significant damage. They also love ripe strawberries.

I'll never forget being plagued by pillbugs in a big production greenhouse. My seedlings were being devoured at night by a hidden foe. It took a nighttime visit for me to catch the hoards in person.

If you are only finding a few under the pots, I wouldn't worry one bit. You could sprinkle food grade Diatomaceous Earth under the containers and in a damp, dark location.

There are homemade baits and traps that work great, too. Just type in pill bug traps into Google for ideas.
