Looks like habaneros to me judging by the shape. Are there multiple pods per node?

    Brennan,

Not sure what a node is, but there is only one per small branch. Something is eating the ends of the new branch ends it seems. Thanks for the quick response. I don't understand why the leaves look like they have chlorosis or variegated in color. Is this common for Habaneros?

It's not common in any pepper.

Can anyone suggest what to do for the leaf color? Will these peppers turn color when ripe. How do I tell if the peppers are ready to be picked.?

If that plant is growing in a pot which it looks like it is. My guess by the stage of the plant, it's rootbound, the soil is hard and compacted and probably lacking in fertilizer. They will most likely turn red when ready to pick.

    Hab,

Thanks for the helpful info. I was thinking along your comment of being root-bound. I poked a number of holes in the soil and fed a very diluted miracle gro acid fert. We will see what happens. What is the best time to re-pot? After I harvest my peppers of course. I am attached to this plant because I brought it back from the dead. It's my zombie pepper plant. Aloha

Do you live in Hawaii? If so, can't you grow all year round? If that's the case I would be planting in ground.

can you upload a pic of the full plant size?

    Habjo,

I have lived most of my adult life in Hawaii but I live in Socal now. It was in a pot when I inherited it. I just wanted to see it live and see what type of pepper plant it was. It has had a tough life since I have had it. The whole plant has been eaten by rabbits twice. Now the rabbits are gone (No I didn't shoot them but I sure would have liked to). I may plant in the ground in early spring and eventually turn it into a bonsai (root over rock maybe). I also what to learn how to prepare them for sauces or salsa. any recipes or instructions?
