Please help with deisgn ideas

Im needing help with designing/ arrangments of furniture or ideas. Going to be replacing floors throughout with grey/ brown light laminate. And buying a sectional for tv family room and plan on moving old couches to front living area.

Looking to make play area/ sitting/ possibly a round 4 person table under where light is( prob replace the candle stick one to more basic/fun)

Other room hang tv above fireplace and diure out what else to do in there. Any help would be appreciated thank u.

- painyig stair case white/ white blinds eventually/ lighten paint color on big accent wall.

* also replacing kitchen table with more farm house style 6-8 person with white chairs?

And buying a sectional for tv family room Not so good - the room is too small

plan on moving old couches to front living area. Bad idea - you want to entertain here and it is large enough for the sectional

basic/fun) Confusion - from the type of toys I see, your children are old enough to play in their rooms or in a bonus room elsewhere in the home. Keep this front area for grown ups, and make the tv room family friendly but with a pair of chairs and a 3-seat sofa.

hang tv above fireplace Don't do that. It is in the right location but needs to sit on a credenza 24% wider than the tv. Add a swivel base under the set to make it more adjustable.

white blinds eventually You need some softening and light control. Consider adding some hi-tech UV film on the upper windows throughout. Then add shades and some drapery panels throughout.

lighten paint color on big accent wall A good idea but wait until all your fabrics and textiles are in place. Paint is the last step in the decorating process. It can be custom blended to work with the colors and patterns that are set in stone. I don't really see a true accent wall here. IMO, they are usually walls that have no natural architectural interest, no windows, doors, etc. I do make an exception for a wall with a fireplace, but not if there is other stuff going on.

replacing kitchen table with more farm house style 6-8 person with white chairs Are you going for farmhouse style throughout? Are you talking about white fabric on chairs - not a good idea with kids. I would match them to the stair railing stain as I showed above. Of course, that depends on the table. A bench and chairs together might work better with kids.

I would get your flooring replaced first. Could we see which flooring you are looking at? Add some inspiration photos to your ideabook? When your flooring is in, post new photos. Just concentrate on one room at a time.

Thank u good ideas. So u think tv on bigger console... next to tv? Also u say adult room? What could be in there.. and for couch and two chairs.. where should those be positioned in the family room? I need toys to be stored in one of those rooms.. no play room:(

Here is an example for the tv. If you need the toys to be stored in one room, it should be this one. That way you can allow your two front rooms to be for adult entertaining/visiting, while the toys are less visible behind the wall. Can't most of those toys go in the children's bedrooms?

Yes good idea... my daughter will be almost 2 so was thinking of functional space/ play area/ organization in the front living room for her....so she wouldnt have to play upstairs all the time.

I would have a more formal seating area in the front, it doesn't necessarily have to include sofas. It could just have some living chairs, side tables, a coffee table, a credenza along a wall, etc.

Under the pendant lighting, I can visualize a round table. Along the wall there should be adequate storage for toys. The new flooring would look great!

The new flooring will look wonderful. Personally I think hanging the TV above the fireplace would open up more space in the room and make it look bigger, since you wouldn't need anything piece of furniture there. I think once you get working on this you might get overwhelmed if you tackle this whole project at once, I agree with the many other suggestions of focusing on one room at a time.

This room should be your family/play room. Your fireplace is low, so the tv isn't too high on top of it. Bring in some of the toys. New flooring, rug, curtains, art, pillows. Put the rest of the toys in your daughters room. She is old enough to choose a small amount of toys to be in this room at one time. Complete this room, then move on to the next room.
