I need to redo my trim. It is made of 2 pieces 2x all the way around. I am hoping to tie the side trim in with what i use for verticle support beams here, , same design. So i guess first if figuring out the front porch...

The other matter is the head trim. I am thinking 2 2x4's fastened together and made with some angle cuts (kind of like a beveled look). It will need to be 3 inches deep to give the screen door a bit of overhang. Thing is the sides need to be beveled as well-to prevent it being an eyesore. The interior edge trim needs to be flat or square to butt up to the side trim's pillars (cut in half) and the top angled to promote water runoff.

I will try and sketch it out so you have a better idea what i am thinking.
